Cosmetic Gynecology in Houston

Cosmetic Gynecology is a budding new subspecialty of Gynecology. Cosmetic Gynecology concentrates on procedures that can improve the aesthetic appearance of the genital structures. It's a well-known fact that women with a positive body image report having sex more often and with greater satisfaction. They are also more comfortable undressing in front of their partners, more likely to initiate sex and overall more at ease with their sexuality.

What is not so well known is that many women are dissatisfied with the appearance of their vagina, more specifically the appearance of the labia minora (the inner lips).

He augments thin labia by transferring fat or injecting a soft tissue filler to plump thin, deflated labia and often liposculpts the mons pubis and labia majora by removing unwanted fat to reduce the size of these structures.

After multiple childbirths and with age, collagen shrinks and skin loses its elasticity causing the labia to elongate and thin. To correct this, Dr. Torres will often use soft tissue fillers like Restylane or autologous fat transfer to restore thin labia.

In addition to Cosmetic Gynecology, Dr. Torres performs innovative functional Gynecological procedures that help restore vaginal function after childbirth. With multiple vaginal deliveries, the vaginal wall becomes stretched and muscles tear, causing a feeling of looseness to this area.

"Many women suffer from sexual dissatisfaction after childbirth because they no longer experience the sensual aspects of sexual intercourse. With a distended or 'loose' vagina, women experience loss of sensation during sex and even lose interest in sexual activity all together."

With surgery, Dr. Torres focuses his skills on repairing the muscles and ligaments that support the vaginal wall to restore muscle tone, strength and control. With this procedure, the diameter of the vagina is also reduced with the goal of re-establishing sensual sensation. For those who want the ultimate in vaginal rejuvenation, Dr. Torres performs hymenoplasty to reconstruct a torn hymen.

She is married and has two children and is fluent in Spanish.
